VICtory Run - Using Our Legs to SAVE Yours!
Honorary Emcees - Gene Lovin and Brenda Trammel
We are excited to announce a new running event to Chattanooga - the VICtory Run - 5k/10k/1 mile-fun walk. A group of community focused volunteers are coming together to create an event bringing awareness to the regional amputation problem. The southeastern part of the United States has the highest amputation rates in the country, many of these surgeries could be prevented with proper education and alternative treatment plans, resulting in patients having better health, a more active lifestyle, and longer life.
The name of the event came about because of the need to let everyone know that there are options to save a leg and have victory over amputation. “Using Our Legs to Save Yours” is a reminder of the commitment that we have in caring for people with Diabetes, High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, or the Elderly who have leg problems. We want everyone to know that we are here to support them with two strong legs!
In this our first year, we are inviting the community to come together not just for another cause, but to join our mission to prevent unnecessary amputations. Your options are broad in scope from a 1 mile-fun walk to the challenge of a 10k, all timed and monitored by our event partner, Scenic City Multisport.
You can Remember or Honor someone with a sign to be placed along the course, the cost is $75.00 per sign, you get to keep the sign after the race. You can purchase by selecting this option on the registration page. Please have a photo available to upload.
